Manele Golf Course was host to a Turkey Earthquake Relief Fundraiser on Saturday, March 25.  Over 80 players from Four Seasons Resort Lāna‘i; Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort; and residents participated in the four-person team scramble. A special shout out to members of the Junior Golf Program, sponsored by remote sales and marketing team members. The program’s Saturday classes draw young golfers who are keen to improve their game and learn the fundamentals from Will Foster, first assistant golf professional, who heads the program.

The event, the brainchild of Scott Ashworth, director of golf; Kendric Kimizuka, head golf professional; and Seril Shimuzu, golf course superintendent, raised $8,000. Proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen, International Rescue Committee, and Save the Children in an effort to assist those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey.

Attendees enjoyed pizza and drinks, prizes, and of course, ocean views on every hole while raising funds for the various charity organizations.

Says Alastair McAlpine, GM, Four Seasons Resorts Lanai, “We were honored to help in any small way we could with such a tragedy. While it’s many miles away from Hawaii, our thoughts and prayers continue to be sent over the oceans.”
