The Hawaiʻi Department of Health is hosting free 30-minute webinars on trauma-informed care and practices, starting on April 22 and continuing through May 24, via Zoom. The webinars in April will cover the principles and philosophy behind trauma-informed care, while those in May will focus on how to apply these principles in practice. The Lānaʻi Domestic Violence Taskforce is hosting a Teen Dating Violence Community Forum at the Lānaʻi Senior Center or via Zoom on Thursday, May 16, at  5 p.m. The session will cover promoting healthy relationships among teens, recognizing signs of teen dating violence and strategies for creating a supportive school environment. The Lānaʻi Fishing Scholarship application for 2024 is open. The scholarship will be awarded to graduating LHES seniors who are attending college in the fall of the 2024-2025 school year and majoring in marine science or health care. The County of Maui is asking Lāna‘i residents to assist the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Initiative by helping pinpoint the neighborhoods most in need of high-speed internet connections and digital resources. The Lāna‘i Agricultural Resource Fair will be held at the Old Bowling Alley on Tuesday, May 21, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Various agricultural and gardening-related entities will be available to discuss their services, including loans, cost-share programs, workshop ideas, and retail supplies. The Pūlama Lānaʻi Development & Construction team is hosting an open house at the Old Bowling Alley on Tuesday, May 21, from 5:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m. to showcase innovative technologies such as Tesla batteries and cross-laminated timber panels being used on Lānaʻi, and to discuss the island's water usage, bill payment options and available job and leasing opportunities.

The Lāna‘i Saturday Market will take place at Dole Park on Saturday, May 25, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Kaunaʻoa Group is hosting a Carnival Fun Fair at Dole Park on Monday, May 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This fundraiser aims to support Lāna‘i’s youth with an array of games, prizes, and food. All youth-affiliated groups are invited to join in the fun and take this opportunity to fundraise at the carnival.

The Royal Lānaʻi Yacht Club Scholarship application for 2024 is now open. A $2,500 scholarship award will be given to one LHES senior or LHES graduate majoring in marine science or a related field. HawaiiKidsCAN, Lānaʻi ‘Ohana Connection and Let’s Go Learn have created the ‘Ohana Learning Toolkit to help parents understand how their children are doing in school.
