Lānaʻi Veterinary Care becomes a private practice clinic under Dr. Claire Conrath

Press release from Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary

After a one-year launch, Lānaʻi Veterinary Clinic has been incubated successfully under the leadership of the nonprofit Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary. Effective immediately, the clinic has been transferred to Dr Claire Conrath’s private practice, an independent business not affiliated with Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary (LCS). She launches her services in July with two dates: July 17 and July 31.

Pet health records have been transferred and owners may contact her clinic directly for services: LanaiVeterinaryCare@gmail.com or 808-563-0588. The new website is www.LanaiVeterinaryCare.com instead of LanaiVeterinaryCare.org.

Dr. Claire spent a decade in Illinois before moving to Hawai‘i in 2017 to work with nonprofit rescue groups and animal shelters. She graduated with honors from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine and operates Paws of the Pacific, providing veterinary services to the Hawaiian Islands.

The community clinic was established in 2023 to serve pets on Lānaʻi with preventive medicine, outpatient surgery and other services. Conrath will continue to use the mobile clinic as part of LCS’s commitment to a smooth transition.

“It has been our privilege to help the island’s people and pets,” says Keoni Vaughn, Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary’s Executive Director. “We’ve fulfilled our goal to establish protocols and systems to optimize services and it’s a good time for us to transfer this operation to Dr. Claire’s expertise and refocus our work fully on the more than 835 cats in residence at Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary. We are committed to helping ensure a smooth transition and feel confident that Dr. Claire will continue to provide high quality veterinary care for Lānaʻi’s owned animals.”

Clinics will continue to be held at the Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary until otherwise posted. Please go to www.LanaiVeterinaryCare.com  for scheduling and updates. All questions should be directed to Lanai Veterinary Care at LanaiVeterinaryCare@gmail.com or at 808-563-0588.
